NEVADA – August 15, 2021
This week, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, along with other State officials, will highlight “Infrastructure Week” in Nevada.
Kicking off with the first State Infrastructure Bank meeting on Monday, the Governor will highlight various projects throughout the week in both the Northern and Southern part of the State.
Spearheaded by Governor Sisolak, Senate Bill 430 was one of the largest job creation bills put forward and passed in the 2021 legislative session. The bill received broad bipartisan support from Nevada lawmakers, including a unanimous vote in the Senate.
Senate Bill 430 expands the types of projects that can be financed through the State Infrastructure Bank. It helps accelerate traditional forms of infrastructure projects like transportation, water, and utility projects and also allows for infrastructure projects related to renewable energy, recycling and sustainability, new technologies, affordable housing, health care, food insecurity, and public education. These projects will help create thousands of good-paying jobs for Nevadans.
The following is a schedule of events for the week. Media coverage is welcome and members of the press are asked to RSVP for additional details.
